What Did Jeffrey Dahmer Die Of? (2024)

Social Studies High School

Answers

Answer 1

Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the most notorious serial killers in American history, passed away in prison on November 28, 1994, at the age of 34.

Multiple life terms were being served by Dahmer for the 1978–1991 murder and mutilation of 17 young men and boys. In 1994, while incarcerated, he was assaulted by another prisoner and hurt his cranium. But it wasn't that that ended his life.

Jeffrey Dahmer died of severe brain trauma and hemorrhage resulting from the beating. In the jail gym, Dahmer and another prisoner were assaulted with a metal bar by Christopher Scarver, a fellow prisoner who was serving a life term for murder. Shortly after being taken to the hospital, Dahmer passed away from his injuries.

Later, Scarver claimed that he assaulted the other prisoner and Dahmer because he thought they were making fun of him.

What drives production decisions in a free enterprise system?

Answers

Production choices in a free enterprise system are dictated by supply and demand in the market. Businesses and organisations seek to maximise profits, so they produce items and services that customers want to buy at a price that maximises earnings.

Businesses will expand production when there is a high demand for a certain product in order to satisfy that demand and increase profits. Production will decline if demand falls since there won't be a market for the products being made.

Prices are a factor in production choices as well. Businesses may modify their production techniques or look for alternative materials if the cost of labour or raw materials rises in order to save expenses and keep a profit. Businesses may reduce output if a product's price rises in order to avoid oversupplying the market.

In a free enterprise system, businesses' ultimate objective is to respond to market forces by producing goods and services profitably. Thomas exhorts us to "rage against the dimming of the light" rather than submit to death. Over the villanelle's six stanzas, these two lines are repeated a total of four times each. Thomas's heavy emphasis on repetition allows us to understand the desperation in his words.

We don't realize the extent of his desperation until the sixth and final stanza, when he asks his listeners to help him battle for survival as well as for his own father, who is still alive.

What is the main point of the documentary 13th?

Answers

The main point of the documentary 13th is to explore and expose the ways in which the American criminal justice system has perpetuated and reinforced racial inequality throughout the country's history, particularly with regard to the treatment of Black people.

The film takes its title from the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for a crime. The filmmakers argue that this exception has been exploited by lawmakers and law enforcement officials to disproportionately incarcerate Black Americans, leading to what some call the "prison industrial complex."

Through a combination of archival footage, interviews with experts, and personal narratives from people impacted by the criminal justice system, the film shows how mass incarceration, mandatory minimum sentences, and other policies have led to the criminalization and marginalization of Black communities. It also explores the ways in which political and economic interests have contributed to the growth of the prison system.

Overall, "13th" makes a powerful argument that the criminal justice system in America has become a new form of institutionalized racism, perpetuating inequality and discrimination against Black people long after slavery was abolished.
